Guest Ratings & Reviews
The hotel has nice views of the San Francisco skyline, but the rooms are a bit dated and could use some work. The service was quite helpful and kind, although some instances seemed disrespectful for such a well-respected hotel. The location is right on one of the main Cable Car lines, making it convenient for our needs but requires effort due to the steep hill. The dining experience was excellent but slightly overpriced. The facilities need improvement.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms had a quietly elegant feel, but the noise from outside and the crying children in neighboring rooms affected my sleep quality. The location was excellent, close to Union Square and Chinatown, but the uphill walk to Nob Hill was a bit inconvenient. The dining experience was delicious with a variety of choices, although the surcharge for certain options was not justified. The service was generally helpful, but there were instances where I felt the staff could have been more attentive.
The hotel is well-located just a couple of blocks from Union Square and Chinatown, offering a great start for a fabulous holiday. The rooms, although somewhat small for four people, have a nice bathroom with lots of light and a very positive vibe. The service is professional and efficient, with extremely friendly and helpful staff, though there was an incident of confusion over a nonexistent happy hour. The dining experience, with great food and breathtaking views of the city, is worth a try, but there might be better value options in the area. The facilities are convenient and include everything you need for a pleasant stay.
The hotel was advertised as a special king room with a balcony, but the experience was affected by noise from crying children and outside commotion. The rooms were clean but appeared tired due to the old building. The location was good with access to other parts of town, but not ideal for a relaxing stay. The dining options were limited and overpriced, impacting the overall experience.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. Although the rooms could use some updating, our club room on the 11th floor offered spacious accommodations with stunning views of the San Francisco skyline. The service, while generally good, was somewhat spoiled by an incident with the reception staff. The location on the highest point of Nob Hill was ideal for exploring the city, but the dining options seemed a bit overpriced. Overall, it's a hotel with potential but with some room for improvement.
The hotel captures the classic charm of San Francisco with a touch of modernity. The rooms exude quiet elegance, although the bathroom arrangements harken back to a bygone era. While a paint job and modern updates are needed, the cozy ambiance is unmistakable. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff throughout the hotel. The location atop Nob Hill offers breathtaking views and easy access to key attractions. Dining options vary from basic to special, with some great food choices available. Overall, a stay at this hotel promises a mix of nostalgia and comfort.
Staying in the historic Mark Hopkins Suite for two adult women was a memorable experience with spacious rooms offering a nice view of downtown. The service throughout the hotel was lovely, especially the great guys on concierge, making the stay extra special. The location at the top of Nob Hill in a quaint neighborhood was excellent for exploring the city on foot, although it may be a bit challenging for those who prefer taxis. The dining experience was superb with all necessities available, although a la carte options were surprisingly missing. Overall, a stay at this hotel offers a mix of delights with some minor inconveniences.
My stay at the hotel was great overall. The rooms were spacious and had good views, well-equipped, clean, and nicely appointed. However, the price seemed a bit high for what was provided. The service was friendly and accommodating, but at times it felt a bit slow. The location was convenient for exploring but required effort, especially the walk up-and-down Nob Hill. The dining options were excellent but on the pricey side. Overall, a comfortable stay with some minor drawbacks.
Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! The rooms on a higher floor with a view were clean and well-appointed, offering a spectacular and spacious stay. The service was top-notch with friendly and helpful staff. The location is unbeatable, perfect for exploring San Francisco. However, the dining options were a bit overpriced and limited, a small downside to an otherwise fantastic experience.
The hotel room was nice and large with a downtown view; however, the bathroom was cozy for one person only. There were loud external noises from a lightning storm, wind, and street yelling, affecting the overall experience. Lack of food service late at night led to inconvenience. There was a funny smell upon entering the hotel.
